Pasta Planet

's Sustainability Journey

Pasta Planet is actively working towards achieving its ambitious 2030 Net Zero objectives, alongside transitioning 40% of their tasty menu offering to plant-based.

The Challenge

Pasta Planet were keen to understand more about the environmental impact of their menu, including where the impacts are coming from and what they can do to reduce them. Leveraging Foodsteps’ carbon footprint assessment, Pasta Planet has gained valuable insights into their supply chain, prompting a necessary shift in sourcing to curtail emissions right at the farm. Our analysis also revealed an opportunity to enhance the sustainability of their products by transitioning packaging to recycled materials.

The Solution

Our approach to the challenge faced by Pasta Planet encompassed decarbonisation workshops, comprehensive impact assessments right down to the farm level, and periodic reporting through the Foodsteps Platform to track changes in impact.

Leveraging the capabilities of the Foodsteps Platform, Pasta Planet has meticulously fine-tuned their recipes, making incremental changes to enhance the carbon efficiency of their menus. This included the creation of an innovative 50:50 blended meat options, exemplified by our lentil and beef blended burgers.

With the guidance of carbon experts from Foodsteps, Pasta Planet are now proactively involved in every link of their supply chain, particularly focusing on driving the reduction of food waste throughout the entire life cycle of their dishes.
