Foodsteps is joining the UK Food and Drink Pact, led by WRAP, a powerful network of nearly 200 organisations committed to transforming our food system for the better.
The UK Food and Drink Pact brings together businesses, trade bodies, local authorities and charities across the entire food and drink supply chain to tackle some of the most pressing sustainability challenges facing our industry. Through collaboration and collective action, we're working towards a circular food system that protects our planet while future-proofing food businesses.
Together with other members, we are committing to bold ambitions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
- Reduce food waste by 50% per capita
- Halve GHG emissions across the food and drink system
- Ensure that half of all fresh food is sourced from areas with sustainable water management
Why We're Excited
At Foodsteps, we believe that transparency, innovation and collaboration are essential to transforming how we produce and consume food. By working together under the UK Food and Drink Pact, we can accelerate change and ensure that the food system supports, not depletes, the planet.
That's why joining the UK Food and Drink Pact feels like such a natural next step. As an affiliate partner, we are particularly excited to join working groups and contribute our expertise in measuring and reducing environmental impacts across the food supply chain.
The Power of Partnership
What makes the UK Food and Drink Pact so valuable is its foundation in collaboration over competition. By joining this trusted network, we become part of a coalition united by innovation, shared knowledge and collective determination.
“The food and drink industry has a hugely important role to play in addressing the urgent challenges of climate change and sustainability... The [UK Food and Drink Pact] has been a great success in bringing organisations together to create a more sustainable industry.”
Rebecca Pow, Former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, DEFRA
Looking Ahead
We're looking forward to learning from fellow Pact members, sharing our own insights and expertise, and contributing to the working groups that will shape a more sustainable future for food and drink.
Here's to collaboration, innovation and building a food system that works for everyone.
